Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised in an ethnically mixed family. The father of her is Nigerian and Swiss as well as her mother is English. She was raised in a council estate located south of London. In the ages of 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She went to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which she graduated with a BA in acting. She performed in various performances on stage during her school days, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe's acting career began with Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer came from the Woody Allen 2007 film Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. The following year she portrayed Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie and in six episodes of Flipside. The ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was the main character for How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedic comedy released in 2008. She has performed in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, composed by David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut with The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes on The CW, and was later cancelled. In February 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe was in the episodes in the series' second season as the show's regular. But in May 2013, the word broke that the actress would quit the show due to her guest appearance in the first episode of the series' third season. In the television series Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba in 2014 through 2016. Madekwe married her actor partner Iddo goldberg on June 2012. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also played a part with her on the TV series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for a Gemini Award, comes from an extensive Hamilton family. Her family included the parents Roy and Patty as well as four of their older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. All of her brothers were athletic, and they played baseball as well as hockey throughout the winter and summer months. She grew up in baseball and arenas. Ashley could not walk but danced. In the end, when she turned 2 when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. Ashley was hooked on dance immediately. Ashley continued to dance competitively through high school graduation, at the top levels of competitions, such as tap, Jazz, Ballet Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop and many more. In addition, she won top soloists awards in all important dance competitions including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
